Endorsements, Statements of Support, and Collaborative Endeavors

Endorsements

As a not for profit professional association, KSAMFT does not endorse or approve any of the following:

  • Specific approaches to therapy;
  • Specific providers of marriage and family therapy; or
  • Specific health care institutions or facilities; or educational institutions. 

Statements of Support

KSAMFT may provide statements of support for activities on which it has agreed to collaborate, such as sponsoring or co-sponsoring educational activities or projects, conferences, publications, and other such activities that come within the scope of its not for profit mission and goals.

Statements of support may also be provided for non-collaborative projects that are of significant public benefit. Such statements of support will be supplied only where the requesting agency has provided sufficient evidence of alignment with KSAMFT’s vision, mission, values and goals. KSAMFT retains the right to withdraw support in the case that the activity violates agreed-upon boundaries or fails to reach acceptable standards of effectiveness and/or integrity.

Collaborative Endeavors

KSAMFT may provide its logo for use in collaborative activities with other non-profit organizations, but will generally not allow the use of its logo where such use would provide a benefit to any for-profit organization. Such use must be recommended by the President and approved by majority vote of the KSAMFT Board of Directors.


KSAMFT may also provide relevant information to members about professional opportunities or materials produced by an organization other than KSAMFT as a membership benefit. These may be advertised as a resource through the newsletter and/or through postings on the KSAMFT website. Sharing such information does not constitute an endorsement.

Before entering into any relationship, the KSAMFT Board of Directors will consider key questions including:

  1. Does the proposed activity and/or the proposed relationship promote the mission and values of the MFT profession?
  2. Are related costs (if any) in alignment with the KSAMFT  budget and financial goals?
  3. Will the relationship promote or enhance activities or organizations whose goals are inconsistent with the mission and values of our organization?
  4. Will the relationship maintain our organization’s reputation for integrity, credibility, social responsibility and accountability?

 

CONFERENCE ADVERTISERS AND SPONSORS

Accepting for publication an advertisement for an organization or program or including in promotional or educational materials the names, logos, or promotional phrases of sponsorships from an organization or program does not constitute endorsement of that organization or program by KSAMFT.

 

THE KSAMFT EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

The KSAMFT Educational Foundation is the official public relations arm on behalf of KSAMFT and it is authorized

  • To access the KSAMFT mailing list
  • To modify the KSAMFT logo
  • To maintain a tab on the KSAMFT webpage.
